Loneliness

I lie awake in bed
I see noting but blackness
I reach out for a hand to touch
I feel nothing but the cold

The lightning illuminates the room
But only for a second
I watch the lightning flash
I think of how great-full I should be

The thunder is all I hear
I think of my loneliness
How great-full I should be
But all I can think of is loneliness
and how sad I am to be me

the storm plays pretty music
Colours fill my room
But with every flash of hope
There is no one to be seen

I lie in my loneliness
In my dark cold room
The storm fills my world
But only shows in my room
I reach out into the blackness
I touch nothing but the air

With hope someone will hold my hand
But I hope in vein
Tears soak my pillow
As the rain begins to fall

Pitter-patter softly on my roof
But still no one to help keep me warm
No one to hold me tight
To tell me its alright
I lie in my loneliness
I drown in my tears each night
