Clueless

I no longer know what it is we have but for a moment I thought I did.
I mean we still greet each other and smile when we walk by but that's pretty much it.
When I see you being happy around other guys I get jealous yet I still want to see you enjoying yourself.
Life is complicated I know and I've realised love is too; I just don't want to give up on you yet.
But it hurts for me to see you beating yourself up over other people.
What's even worse is the fact that you won't take my helping hand.
No one's perfect but no one's asking you to be.
I just don't want to see you in tears; I'd hate to see you in tears.
Especially if I could have prevented it.
As the days go by we slowly but surely slip away from one another.
No more long talks filled with laughter or meaning and soon no more smiles, waves or greetings.
We will simply become 2 faces, 2 people walking in the hallway clueless about our feeling.
But perhaps it won't be like this for the rest of our time.
Hopefully it won't be because I still feel something.
