The Quiet Things

The quiet thoughts
In the middle of the night,
When the window is open,
And the breeze is just right.

The hushed-up dreams
That are taking me away.
The warning lights scream, "shut up!"
You'll regret this every day.

The silent conversations,
All the words we'd never speak.
The phone under my pillow shakes,
And my heart skips a beat.
