Praying

Dear Lord, I wish upon a star
That you'll take this prayer to heart.

Please tell him that I love him so,
And the hardest part was letting go.

I could only hold on for so long.
My life had changed so much when he'd gone.

I tried to move on, to love someone else.
But I couldn't continue lying to myself.

So please let him know life's not the same.
He was no longer here, things had to change.

And when he decides he wants to return,
The healing edges around my heart will burn.

But I'll hug him and tell him how I've been.
And pray to you I'll be better by then.

Dear Lord, I wish upon a star
That you'll fix my broken heart.

    Thanks guys for your comments. They make me feel so special. This poem is about a girl after a guy left her, and she's so heart broken, but soon enough, she realizes that she has to move on, and she does in the end. Thanks. Keep up your own writing.

    Aww this is so sweet...another great write..makes me think about soldiers who have to leave,and for the girls who don't think they can wait but do it anyways because of how much they still care.....loved it:)
