Let's Con Verse

by abracadabra   Oct 24, 2007

It is, after all, a polite seduction,
our mutually modified introduction...

Our fine art of engagement could be a
stationary dance of contrariety, invoking
appropriate knee-jerk responses with
joking intellect and incensed hair tosses.

Or instead of butting at ninety degrees, we could
share the same radius with ease, and
talk of weather, weekends and bands, compare
some toilet paper brands.

Then fabricate an intimacy with
a thick lacquer of flattery,
our brains pounding ahead to score
some victory points on our chessboard, but-

stop dear-

can you hear?

We're holding our breath.
