Paradise

I wake and look around me
I have seen green grass before
But never this deep wonderful shade
I stand and walk around
Never before have the colors seemed so vibrant
Where am i?

I see a bear ambling up the path
I stand frozen in one spot?
will it attack?
It gives me a little grump as it walks by and smells my hand
Now I know
I know where I am!
I begin to run
I see people up ahead
so many people all laughing and hugging
I search the crowd where are you?
Please let me find you!
I see a grown version of my daughter walking to me we hug and I tell her I have missed her.
She looks so good
I don't want to say anything
but you are still not there
Oh my Gosh there is my other daughter she is laughing and running with what must be her children
I am so happy and crying fro joy
We are here
We made it
Then I hear you say my name and I know that voice
I have thought I would not remember it
But there you are.
I have waited almost my whole life for another hug
I never want the hug to end
You take my hand and I introduce you to my children
My whole life has been about this moment
I think to myself I could die happy now
then I remember
Death is no more
The colors
the fragrance of perfection of an earth wide garden,
The animals all together
none of it compares to you and my children together at last.
When I can say Welcome home Dad
