Childish Dreams

by Jenna Rose Kat   Oct 30, 2007

Falling on the ground so cold,
These childish feelings are growing old.

Lying near the edge of defeat,
The ravenous demons will come to eat.

Sitting by the window, watching the sun rise,
Tears of fire, that is what I despise.

Death cries out my name,
But more than two can play this game.

So at night I put my head on the pillow,
My mind sinking to a state of mellow.

But now my fears are summed,
For the sandman may come.

Spare me, leave me, let me sleep,
Death can't take my soul to keep.

So I lay here in the fading light,
Hoping my next day is much more bright.

It was good until it hit the pillow line. It sort of lost it from there. Pillow and mellow don't rhyme, and then I just wasn't very fond of the other lines. The soul to keep line wasn't bad though. Reminded me of a song. Anyways, I really liked your title choice. It was intriguing. The poem itself was all right. Not my favorite, but all right. I've I could I'd give it a 3.7, but I can't so I'll give it a four.
