Someday We'll Know

by TheWorldFellNUWerentThere   Nov 5, 2007

Dear Drunk Dad and Drug Addict Mom,

What's it worth living in hell,
What do you see in that whiskey and crack,
That you don't see in me?
Tell me what do you see?

I'll be long, long, long gone,
By the time you get this at 11 PM,
When you guys finally say its time to get up,
To do the same thing over again.

I can't even get a guy to look at me,
Because they all know what you do,
I'm ashamed that your my parents,
I'm ashamed you can't even act like one.

For sixteen years,
I've been waiting for this moment,
A moment to walk away from a life,
I don't have to live with anymore.

I called Christopher when you guys crashed,
Told him good-bye,
I'm taking a Greyhound bus,
To someplace far away from here.

I'm going away,
To find a world,
Beyond the smell of,
Whiskey and crack.

It wasn't worth sitting home alone at night,
It wasn't worth living the life,
Living in wonders,
If my daylight would come soon.

I found my door, my daylight,
My heaven in hell,
And you guys are too stupid enough,
To realize I was even gone til now.

Don't bother looking for me,
For I am far, far, far away,
I won't hear your arguments of who gets the money,
To buy something that made you who you are.

Filthy people,
Who don't realize their sixteen year old daughter,
Is even there,
Is even gone.

This won't go through your head twice,
I am gone for good,
I am never coming back,
And you were the ones who pushed me away.

I'm going to be a somebody,
In this world,
You missed the chance, I'm not going to miss it.
Good-Bye, Forever.

P.S- Someday we'll know,
Or at least someday I'll know,
I made it,
I made something out of my life.

"And you guys are too stupid enough"

You dont really need enough here, but other than that I love this write. It is so honest and raw. It is something I can completely understand. I am glad I noticed it in the contest. Great job!
