I Remember The Pain [Glosa Verse]

by aDORKable x3   Nov 19, 2007

((Lifehouse - Blind))
I was young but I wasn't naive.
I watched helpless as you turned around to leave.
And still I have the pain I have to carry.
A past so deep that even you could not bury if you tried.
``````````````````````````````````
I couldn't believe thist was coming to an end -
You said that you thought I was playing pretend.
After all the time I had spent with you,
I just didn't know what I was supposed to do.
I Remember The Pain, I Remember The Pain.
The torture I felt, you just couldn't believe.
I kept it all inside, too afraid to cry;
All I could do was to keep asking myself "Why?"
How could you think I would pick up and leave?
"...I was young but I wasn't naive."
You wanted to know what I was thinking -
I told you that I felt I was slowly sinking.
How could I let you do this to me?
How could you just give up on "we"?
I Remember The Pain, I Remember The Pain.
The words you said next, I just couldn't believe;
You told me that it was time for you to go,
That you'd leave me here with, nothing to show.
The words that you said were like make-believe.
"...I watched helpless as you turned around to leave."
The tears I cried would never bring you back;
There's a whole in my heart - can you fix that?
Stains on my pillow spill from my cheek;
I'm strong enough to admit I am weak.
I Remember The Pain, I Remember The Pain.
And now this hurt is all I can carry.
I just don't know what to do;
How can I let you go after what we went through?
I even thought you'd be the one I would marry.
"...And still I have the pain I have to carry."
Trust has been an issue that I constantly deal with -
You've broken the only thing left I could feel with.
You scattered the pieces all over the floor,
And trampled on them as you walked out the door.
I Remember The Pain, I Remember The Pain.
My pillow is catching all the tears I've cried.
I had given you my best years -
But all I was worth to you was tears.
Yet again, here it goes, another part of me has died.
"...A past so deep that even you could not bury if you tried."
