Do You See? <3

Look in the mirror
who do you see?

do you see a person that hides themself?
do you see a person that lies and cheats
just to fit in?

now look deeper
inside of yourself

do you see a person hurting
a person thats in pain?

and then ask yourself, why?
why am i pretending to be something
im not?

realize that your not the only one
theres a million and one more
JUST LIKE YOU

now look at the cheerleaders
do you see all there smiley faces?
you see all but one
theres that one that just doesnt seem to smile
a whole lot
shes just like you
in pain just to fit in

now look at the football players
do you see them all being cocky?
no you see just one
theres just that one that is cocky
hes just like you
in pain just to fit in

do you see where the world is going?
no where because everyone is caught
up in trying to fit in

JUST BE YOURSELF!
you will go so much farther!
do you see?

    This poem really caught my attention. It's got such energy, passion and feeling to it. These were my favorite lines:

    There is a lot of truth in this piece.
    i would say people should stop being shallow.
    and stop judging everyone else.
    but truth is, everyone judges.
    nowadays, it's become automatic.
    and sometimes, we dont even realize it.
    Because, when you think about it,
    first impression are important, why?
    Because the person is judged once met.
