Honeymoon's Over

by MyEscape   Nov 24, 2007

He's charming and handsome
He knows just what to say
Drys your tears, makes you laugh
Loves your flaws anyways

She's sweet and beautiful
She can cook. She can clean.
Loves the sports that you do
Who cares if your eighteen?

The dating's always fun
He buys chocolate and flowers
She's witty and funny
You could talk for hours

You love the same movies
The same music, same bands
So he buys you a ring that
Looks so good on your hand

The wedding's fun to plan
The flowers, cake and guests
You're so deeply in love
Who cares about the rest?

When the honeymoon's over
As the stars start to fall
You will see love is not
What you thought it at all

Love won't pay stacks of bills.
Beauty won't buy you your food.
Now you don't even talk
Because you're not in the mood.

You can't watch television.
The car is falling apart
Things you had in common
Aren't helping your new start

Funny how those little flaws
You thought you could ignore
Are pounding in your head
Like someone knocking at the door

Now it's become routine
And the kisses aren't so sweet
You get to wondering
What swept you off your feet

Now you aren't so blind
But your not sure it's loe
Should've listened to the warnings
Instead of being in a rush

So please look before you leap
Make sure to think it through
Because there's no way out
Once you say the words "I Do."

I really liked this because it painted a picture of a naive person that was biting off more then they could chew, and an accurate one.

The guy loved her flaws and had similar intrests, they obviously care about one another, but look at the result of rushing into things and marrying too young, it's sad and it makes you think, so I like it, lol.

    My favorite verse
    Now it's become routine
And the kisses aren't so sweet
    You get to wondering
What swept you off your feet

Again, you can really see it in your mind...

Aww I just loved this because you spoke the truth! Sadly, love does not solve all problems but we all hope it helps. Nicely said. *5/5*
