World's End.

by Phantasmagoria   Dec 17, 2007

We were standing at the edge of the earth,
watching the flames softly devour the petals beneath the sunset
and listening to the mountain side break under our feet.
The air seemed to gravitate with stillness
the ocean cradled its children with subtlety,
swallowing their corpses and carrying them to aphotic places
that only demons could see.

Standing at the edge of the earth,
watching reality slowly penetrate innocence
we clasped our hands tightly in near condolence
and waited for the world to end.
The air began to thin and suffocate;
as the sky resembles a melted painting
that would crash down upon us.

We were standing at the edge of the earth
when we witnessed the Armageddon of nature --
when we took our place as God's scapegoats
only to find death a sojourn,
awaken once again,
and listen to our hearts palpitate in silence.

Wow... I can't explain how much I like this. It is so powerful, endlessly effective and it is filled with tones of deep darkness. Whole piece is greatly written, with good and interesting yet very unique topic. I can't chose my favorite part, I like this from the beginning to the end. Truly amazing work!
    Keep up!
