1000 Ashes To Remember You By

by brie kelly wise   Dec 20, 2007

My hands trembled as I put down the phone
They glided through my hair like bird with no home
Her words refused to leave as I pushed them out the door
But what always hurts is that I could've done more

Don't leave me, don't push me away
I was placed here to hold you up above these words
There's so much that I could come out and say
But tonight I lay here looking at the places where we all seem to hurt
I'm having trouble locating your voice
It can stand out, I know that
But I'll just follow these ashes I scattered
To remember you by

The last two lines were sort of awkward, but it was still a pretty good poem altogether. I really liked the second part about the bird.
