Ghost Girl

by Painted on Smile   Dec 21, 2007

A sparkle runs down
a tear stained cheek
he turns away
hiding his pain from the world
though he does now know
that one girl, unseen,
witnessed the hurt behind
those big dark eyes
he raises a hand
to wipe away a glistening tear
his hand is caught
as the eyes raindrop
is brushed away
invisible to all
except an unsuspecting boy
a girl with bright, knowing eyes,
he now holds in a tight embrace
as the world races on
with a blink she is gone
but her warmth still remains
and tears no longer threaten to fall
she came and went
quicker than he could comprehend
though the imprint on his heart
will never fade
she is now nothing more
than a mere memory
but was she ever truly more?
she was ghost, angel, and friend
and yet she seemed so real
but was she?
