Oblivious to the Rain

by Painted on Smile   Dec 21, 2007

Her feet fall in puddles
water droplets douse her hair
she walks through the rain
and doesn'tâ??t even care
rain pounds down
on her black tear stainedcheeks
she pretends to be strong
but inside she is truly weak
the downpour washes over her
falling from darkening gray skies
she does not feel the rain
for she is distracted
by the drops that fall from her eyes
the cold that engulfs her
has soaked through her skin
she does not feel that external bitterness
only the bite that comes from within
