Two Summers Ago

by Kayla   Dec 25, 2007

It was two summers ago,
When I first saw his face.
I could feel my heart leap,
As feelings fell into place.

Soon we started to talk,
Eventually even hooked up.
That was the very first time,
I felt this feeling called love.

He kissed my hand goodbye,
As we departed that night.
Tears streamed from my eyes,
When his bus rolled out of sight.

Another tennis tournament,
Finally summer again.
But he never showed up,
That wasn't part of the plan.

I went home completely alone,
Very disappointed in him.
I cried myself to sleep,
While watching a romance film.

Just a week ago,
He decided to contact me.
Saying, "I miss you, baby.",
And, "We were meant to be."

But I won't take him back,
I refuse to sink that low.
All of those feelings were left behind,
Back two summers ago.

I created this poem out of a request from a fellow member of this site named Kory. This story is actually about her and a boy she met one summer at a tennis tournament. She asked me to make a poem out of it. I hope all of you enjoyed it. Thanks for reading! <3

It was adorable but with such a story i think it could be made longer for more details... it's great the way it is but i would have loved to hear more<3

Although this was written for someone else the emotion feels like it is coming from you.Which is a great quality for a writer to hold. The flow was smooth and although the ryhme was a bit off in places the poem was still beautiful.

I think that the last stanza >>
    " But I won't take him back,
I refuse to sink that low.
All of those feelings were left behind,
    Back two summers ago."

was a great way to end the peice. It summed everything up. Again, a beautifully written peice. Great job!
