I'll Help, If I Can Understand

by Soulful Ensemble   Dec 28, 2007

Its hard to be more understanding, when I dont understand at all,
Whats going through your mind-- or why you're going crazy, hon.
Why do you get angry, when I ask a lot of questions?
I'm just trying to find out-- so listen to my suggestions.

Stop yelling at the trees, what do you think they did?
The sky isn't falling, so get up from your knees.
Try to feel the breeze, and try to be a kid,
Theres nothing healthy about keeping a closed lid,
And how will you later find something that you hid?

I have all day, cherie, nobody wants to be with me,
So, for a while, I can try to help-- you see?
I'd tell you, If I could feel what you feel, to try to feel some love,
The kind that makes you want to look above,
And wonder if theres something more
Besides the war and its uproars.

You should also try to open up all doors,
That clog your life and make you a bore.
Try to breath a little, and get up from the floor
Theres nothing there for you, you have to find the core.

You can't find it on your knees,
And you shouldn't float around at sea.
Try to grasp a guiding light so you can finally see
And open up your eyes to me.

Sometimes you feel so close to me, but I don't know where you are,
Your mind is another place, and your body is a star.
I can wait, don't worry, though we're so far apart,
After a bit of talking it wont feel so bizarre,
To talk about your mishaps, and sing about your scars.
