I'm Sorry

by LoveKeepsMeStrong   Dec 28, 2007

I can't imagine what it must be like for you,
I can't imagine what you must be feeling
Knowing what you know, and knowing me like you do
And knowing I broke two promises, in the same night

I regret what happened, although it wasn't my fault
I don't even remember how it happened, just know I have the scars
The taste in my mouth is horrible now,
The sticky but sweet taste of poison.

You are so much better, anyone would agree
And now I feel upset, because I've wasted our chance
To kiss so romantically and so everyone can see
Nina, you are the only one for me.

Yes this poem is far from perfect,
Yes it's the same with me
But I'm trying to present a message, something you can see
The message is I'm sorry for that fateful memory.

Tears were spilt that night, more than one or two
And now it's over and everyone bears the scars
Alcohol has played its part, its usual tricks
Like a poltergeist just trying to have some fun.

And I'm sorry for getting drunk
And I'm sorry for getting kissed.
And I'm sorry for wasting chances but most of all,
I'm sorry for hurting you.
