A promise to dry your tears

by XdangerouslyXgenuineX   Jan 6, 2008

As the lyrics of your song
slowly faded out
i kept listening and almost
heard the tears roll down your cheeks.

i asked what was wrong
and you said you thought
she loved you.

you told me that you only
thought of her
because of loving things.

i promised no matter why
you cried and who
caused your tears
i would dry
every last one.

i wanted to show you i cared
no matter what
i wanted you to know that if i caused
any of your tears
i want to dry them.

i never thought i could
care for anyone
as much as i do for you.

i always thought i knew
who cared but you
taught me how wrong i was.

my little promise to dry your tears
may not be enough for others
but i constantly pray
that it just might
be enough for you
