Mirror-girl

by VioletRaven   Jan 9, 2008

You can't have me,
I'm mine.
I belong to no one,
I have a Self.

Every word I say you take and twist,
Every action you resent,
I reject you.

I had a home,
A family,
A life.
But my duties leave no room for happiness.

I have no friends.

I had a purpose, forgotten soon after entering these halls,
Pictures forgotten as I see these empty walls.

I could be something.
I could be a person.
If it weren't for you.

Who is this girl who is stealing my life?
These possessions are mine,
These words, these thoughts, these marks on flesh.
Give them back, mirror-girl,
Let me have a life of my own.
