Beautifully Broken

A cracked halo
And blackened wings
This fallen angel
In a minor key now sings

Everything was ripped
Away from her grasp
And all onlookers heard
Was her painful gasp

They sat and watched
As he tore her down
Leaving nothing but scars
As she fell to the ground

But she didn't give up
Pushed herself to her knees
She has so much strength
That now everyone sees

Inspired by her optimism
They helped paint her wings white
And now her fixed halo
Gives off a radiant light
