My Lost Soul

by lost in the words   Jan 12, 2008

It's said that everyone has a soul
Whether it's good or if it's evil
And no matter what that soul is alive
Living, breathing, feeling

But my soul, my soul is not alive
It is not good nor is it evil
It doesn't live, doesn't breathe, doesn't feel
For my soul is completely full of nothing
It became empty, when I lost you

I'm sorry for what was said that night
Inside the angry arose and took over
As I sent those hateful words to you

In my mind I knew that I was wrong
But my heart was saying that I wasn't
It broke more that night than ever before

And as the battle drew near to ending
The pain grew more and more inside
And I realized all this time spent on you
A long time ago I should have let die

Excellently worded. I've felt the same way. Our heart is the consciousness of love and we never stop trying to answer an illogical equation.
