The lines in your heart are only a speck.

The lines in your heart are only a speck.

Childish expressions beat you down,
with taunting words to make you frown.
Tormented souls fight what's wrong,
and you still loved it all along.

Burns mark the beginning of what will be,
but somehow you don't look the least bit happy.
A smile can't prove but an emptiness within,
nor can completed lust prove anything but sin.

Rhymes of some sort can be catching as heck,
but the lines in your heart are only a speck.
Shadows created what we are now -
and I'm still asking the universe exactly how.

Demons can laugh and God can cry out in pain,
but I'll still sit there in loneliness, edging insane.
My mind may fight back the tears I shall cry,
yet I'll never forget you somehow made me try.
