Greet death

by silhouette fairy   Jan 17, 2008

Our days are numbered
slowly time ticks away
never too fast,
just often unnoticed.
big moments pass by
a baby's first steps
graduation
child baring
all a cycle
a new thing comes
an old thing goes
just like the green leaves of spring
alive and flourishing
then one day things slow
swiftly death consumes a leaf
only seasons of life is held
for some years
but eventually all go
just like people
life is fast, gone and over
like the leaves of a maple in the fall
but for others it is long
fulfilling like the needles of the pine
but eventually, my friends,
death consumes us
there is no stop
all is inevitable
like nature
greet death
openly,
for no matter the place
it will find you
just remember
openly and welcoming
greet death
