Awaken

by ephemera   Jan 18, 2008

Ebony cloak night unveils to me,
Jewels worthy of supernatural body.
To stand and watch, to watch and see,
Peace invades my very being.

Infinite are the points of light,
Dark and dreary be the night.
If not for the stars constant bright,
Stare unmoved by the perils of sight.

But sight be but a sense without the day,
Vibrancy and color awake to its sway.
The crimson of love to the blue of the skies,
Quiet now, just open your eyes.

To live in a world divided by night and day,
Beauty is only seen when those are awake.
To truly live, to truly see past the veil of light,
Is to be awake, even to the night.
