The Empty Bucket Dirties Easier 4-23-07 (Song)

by Phil Laws   Jan 20, 2008

It's easier to mourn
Than to balance doubt with hope
Easier in pain
Than to wait and try to cope
Easier to forget
Than to forgive
Easier to ignore
And find another way to live
So much easier
To fake that it's hate
When circumstance
Changes the roll of fate
As love goes on
The pain is seething
There's mud in my bucket
It's all so deceiving
It's easier to hide
Than to open up and share
So hard to confide
So we'll pretend that we don't care
Easier to regret
Than to refuse
Easier to dwell
With only time left to lose
It's easier to conceal
Symptoms of life
When not learning
To grow from loss and strife
Well love goes on
The pain is leaving
I've emptied my bucket
There'll be no more grieving
Easy
Doesn't please me
Like satisfaction
Bred from action
Easy
Doesn't please me
As much as honor
Gained from vigor
Hey, love's no con
Pain is for believing
I've refilled my bucket
To prolong dirt receiving
It's easier to mourn
Than to balance doubt with hope
Easier in pain
Than to wait and try to cope
Easier to forget
Than to forgive
Easier to ignore
And find another way to live
So much easier
To fake that it's hate
When circumstance
Changes the roll of fate
My love goes on
Without pains theiving
Contents of my bucket:
Too dense for dirts cleaving
What's easier is not what's best
When I'm answering to a test
The easy path is worse failure
Than things that I fear will occur
