Unstrung 6-13-00

by Phil Laws   Jan 20, 2008

Pulling a string
Frayed patient at the loose end
Feeling suddenly rare in a solitary air
A time un-needing of a friend
It was with this careless cloth over my eyes
That I found what I wasn’t looking for anymore
Presents wrapped only in moments
Of kind words and sharp perspective
Easing a simple knot from expectations line
The fast past of relations
Not to be brought to mind
And the comfort of carefree honesty
When there is joy in all I find
Unstrung
