Voices Gain Together 6-26-00

by Phil Laws   Jan 20, 2008

At the collection of spirit and flesh
The beginning
Of self
The only weakness to exposure is the need to hope
It's in pensive sharing that there's a caring
For the whole
To find together
What we never saw beneath
Suppressions role
In assurance and accord
To leave the world
In an embrace
Grasping tight to release the fright and every sight
Before
We reach in understanding
For innocence and maturity
Merged
With the impurities of self
Exposed
And yet ignored
As two show together that the other is a part of some small whole
That is so great in minds
And yet it finds less light
Most times
Even as thoughts leave the soul
Where purity isn't half so passive
As a meaningful touch
Gone coy with fascination
Between feelings
Of beings describing themselves
By notice and outward study
Defined in compassion
And finding fulfillment
Beyond the moment
Through hope for an unanswered silence
That voices gain together
