Jumping There No More 4-21-95

by Phil Laws   Jan 22, 2008

Whisper to the dark
Misled by the ears
Gained friendly trust
Lost only fears
Crushed to the bone
Untouched
Mentally alone
Surrounded
All I've known
Forgotten
Buttered through tongue
Can't taste without lard
To each ear a different note
Than the original card
Cannot hear the song
Distorted and misled
Through tongue of one and ears of two
The truth now lost and dead
Goodbye Mr. Real
Halved and wholed to pieces
The truth never comes out
Some reality ceases
Never changing past
Miscue to the future
Upfront of views
Though not the main feature
Knowing the truth
Like hearing the song
May not sound as good
At least it's not wrong

Phil what an an excellent piece.

Deceit happens far to often nowadays.

    Knowing the truth
    Like hearing the song
    May not sound as good
    At least it's not wrong
    ^^
Loved this part because yes sometimes knowing the truth can be hurtful but I would rather know that than be lied to no matter what.

I was just marveling that I wrote that 21 years ago. And still feel the same, unlike much of my early works.
