Cold Poem

by Melissa   Jan 23, 2008

Winter does not fit me well
with it's white skirt of frigid drapery
whirling about thy waist
as though it were a clothing choice
and not merely nature
wearing itself
around my pregnant belly
like a fanciful charm
that produces no style, no luck
just an icy palpation
between me
and a pair of frozen hands
which may break
at any given time

I have to say that I really like your poem. I think that the nature section of this site has to be where one can find really wonderfully written poems. They arent old and dull like so may other love poems Im sure even mine fall into that category once in awhile. I found your work very interesting. Keep up the good words and may all your writings bring you peace.
