These Thoughts I Think

by Soulful Ensemble   Jan 24, 2008

These thoughts I think
Aren't at my door.
These thought I blink
Were thought before.

The thoughts I thought
Have been in your brain.
There are too many thoughts
To not be thought again.

At some point in time
Somebody'll be like me.
And when he's in his prime
He will then be free.

For now, its not to be;
I've got many thoughts left
And plenty of knees
To get down on; bereft.

These thoughts of mine I cannot claim
They come to me to play a game.
I listen and I let them lead
And they quickly want to leave.

These thoughts have elsewhere to be
I can't hold them to myself.
To keep them all in me
Would be to waste them on a shelf.

Don't waste your thoughts away
Put them down on things.
Then they will always sway
The way back to their wings.
