Pink Butterfly

by Edward Elric   Jan 27, 2008

A pink butterfly
With not much time to live
Landed on my nose
One cold winter eve

Like a pink sun he looked
Against the gray winter sky
And I asked him to teach me
To teach me how to fly

The butterfly shook his head
Flying is not for men he said
But if you really want to fly
Your human shell you must shed

There is only one condition
To remove the skin I once wore
You must promise and swear
To love no more

I smiled and shook my head
The butterfly flew away
If that's the price you want, I said
I'll fly another day

The price of flying, ot just not giving up on love. You are giving here a very interesting concept, you can be free and "fly" but for that you can't have somebody with you as you can only fly alone. If you want to love, you are depending on the one you love and can't be free. This idea is something that many can relate to. I liked the idea... The whole structure was good, the flow was fasinating, the choosing of words was interesting and the rhyming weren't forced, what gave the raw emotions to flow. All was great, keep it up 5/5
