Oringe Binge 1-26-08

by Phil Laws   Jan 29, 2008

Orange has no rhymes?
I've heard this too many times
Let's try pronunciation
Diction and enunciation

If you say it's orange
I'll say it rhymes with flange
If you say it's orenge
I say that's like Stonehenge
You pronounce it orunge
And then it rhymes with lunge
If you look up orange
You'll find it rhymes with binge
Oranges and singes, oranges and cringes
That's where my case hinges

Rhyme's definition
Is that the sounds bear a relation
Accents have no contagion
According to the explanation

If you say it's orange
I'll say it rhymes with flange
If you say it's orenge
I say that's like Stonehenge
You pronounce it orunge
And then it rhymes with lunge
If you look up orange
You'll find it rhymes with binge
Oranges and singes, oranges and cringes
That's where my case hinges

Orange has no rhymes?
I've heard this too many times
And I can't feign to agree
Check it in the dictionary

If you say it's orange
I'll say it rhymes with flange
If you say it's orenge
I say that's like Stonehenge
You pronounce it orunge
And then it rhymes with lunge
If you look up orange
You'll find it rhymes with binge
Oranges and singes, oranges and cringes
That's where my case hinges
