Death

by Sanath Kumar   Feb 1, 2008

Undoubtedly, what man fears most in his life is death.
It's the time when God finally decides to stop our breath.
Death underlines the inevitable end of a person's life
Eternal peace replaces the seemingly unending strife.

The most unpredictable thing about death is its timing
One never knows when it strikes the person like lightning.
It appears that God suddenly falls in love with a person
And takes him/her away without any prior intimation.

To most aged people, natural death is almost welcome
Perhaps it delivers them from sickness and boredom.
But, when death happens due to some unnatural causes,
That's when it suddenly brings gloom into the houses.

When death were to take away a loving child,
Life would appear extremely cruel and wild.
It would appear right to question God's intent
In giving and taking away in just an instant.

In some situations, it seems to appear wise
To consider death as a blessing in disguise.
Patients with incurable and painful diseases
Are some examples of such unfortunate cases.

Death to anyone is always an irrevocable loss
And it would appear futile to analyze the cause.
Only time can heal the wounds inflicted by death
And give a respite to those still having a breath.

Well... I liked the poem... But what I felt is though the lines are very true yet this piece is missing the soul... somehow not so touchy yet meaningful.
