Heaven's Balcony.

by Brittany   Feb 3, 2008

My hand is caught in the rails of this balcony,
I was reaching for something,
But these bars remind me I'm only human,
And hold me down.

But the balcony holds me up,
The rails refuse my craving for rock bottom,
I'm offered the sky from where I'm sitting,
It seems approachable.

Heaven could open from here,
I've done a lot of things that maybe would make the angels turn me down,
But I think from here I could reach the gate,
And I think it would open,
Welcoming me in,
Because I must have done something right.

I'll be on this balcony for awhile,
Tons of mistakes left to make,
Maybe some good deeds left to do,
I'll make it up there someday.

I just know it.

I had an epiphany.
