More alive

by StandStill   Feb 5, 2008

She keeps her chin up
but casts her eyes down
fakes a smile,
though she really wants to frown

questions the world
changes her belief
sees amazement in their eyes,
much to her relief

looks at the world through a fog
wishes for rose-colored glasses
hopes for something real
before this world passes

needs something to believe in
if she's to survive
something to give her hope
something to revive
something more alive
