Picking supernovas from my garden
In a desert far from nowhere...
Earthen-scaled liquid rock,
Wasting away moments on the clock...
You may look at me with eyes askew
With tears parting lips heavy thoughts accrue...
Over the years,
I was the silent observer...
Unbridled rage unleashed;
Crack! Silence...
What are memories but passing
reminders on shattered glass...
I've seen a grown man fall,
To his knees on the ground...
Promiscuous eyes
and a dazzling grin...
Let me think my thoughts,
Without having to read them in the headlines...
Black clouds hover,
Never to reveal...
Twisted flesh encrusted ivory
Reaching skyward to the heavens...
Passing by, passing by,
Time's to short to laugh or cry...
