The Earth is supposed to end. Anyone believe it? There are a lot of "coincidences" happening on that date, and you can argue that even the great Nostradamus predicted it.

If it happens it happens and there is nothing anyone can do about it, so its life as usual i guess

I know of a guy who predicted a plane would crash in a certain month with red in the tail section and that 500+ people would die and so on and so on. If you want to predict the future its not so hard, you just have to be able to observe the past very well

Prelude 12/21 by AFI tells me that everyones eyes will be kissed and then everyone will then be layed to sleep.

But this 12/21 dates back to 100AD (or so I recall), so I'm thinking that it could seem highly possible 2000 years ago. But not today.

I don't think it will end either, but there are other predictions besides everyone dying. Another says that we're all supposed to be "enlightened" and then an even crazier one says that Atlantis will rise from the ocean.

If Atlantis comes up from the ocean I'm definitely vacationing there next summer. XD woot woot.

I dunno bout the end of the world, but it will happen when no one's expecting it. These people are basing the end of the world on scientifically predicted events which we know aren't always accurate. Or maybe it is the end of the world because no one believes it... who knows?!

That's true. The world will also come close to ending in 2032 (I believe that is the year) if it doesn't end in 2012.

In the near future, apparently an asteroid will come into our atmosphere, but instead of crashing into Earth our gravity will repel it like a sling shot into a different path. The new path will have the asteroid on a crash coarse for Earth. It will hit the Earth in 2032 if scientists don't figure out a way to stop it. True story, not making this up at all.

And if the scientists somehow do manage to stop it, probably getting some astronauts to blow it up in some heroic way, then some demented geezer will then make a film about it before realising that there are already about 100 which are exactly the same.

My sister just told me that... but I dont know... its scary that people assure that its when the world will end... but there have been other dates in the past that have been said, but nothing happen... for example 6/6/06 supposedly because it was a satin day... and when 2000 came... supposedly at midnight we were all supposed to die.. so... i dont believe it... unless i see someone with proof then i will believe it... til then... i will keep going with my life!

Bottom line: we cease to exist. Which means there will be no argument like this. There will be space, other planets, galaxies etc...

But no humans. No matter how small a part of the universe we are, our existence should still be a huge concern, to us at least.
