PnQ Welcomes the New Mod Generation!

Hello everyone. We have a few announcements so bear with us!

Firstly, thanks to everyone who sent in an application to be a moderator. There was a wide spread and some great applications and it was something of a wonderful headache choosing from such a list. It was fantastic also to receive an injection of enthusiasm and an insight into what members perceive the mod role to be. We can take tips from that going forward. Which brings us onto the next point!

After discussing it thoroughly, we decided to go ahead and promote 3 new mods at this time. (The reasons outlined below). Please welcome to the mod team:

Each of these individuals topped our lists and would have made a strong moderator in her own right, taken together with the existing team, we believe the mix to be the most diverse and strongest available to us.

Britt returns with the experience of her past moderating days and is probably more dedicated to this site than anyone. She knows everyone on the existing team and will mesh with the newcomers as well.

MaryAnne, Poet On the Piano, brings both youth and wisdom. She is among the top praised commenters on the site, has faithfully and timely judged whenever asked and participates actively in the main forums. She has the energy and ideas to bring us places we have not yet attempted.

Meena Krish brings us both maturity and wisdom. She has guided her club lovingly and developed her poets well. She also brings us representation to parts of the world that have needed a voice in the mod team for a long time.

We are delighted to have them on board and are sure they will bring integrity, wisdom, youth, maturity, energy and commitment to their roles! Thanks to them, and all the applicants for volunteering and I'm sure they will fit into the new look mod team in no time.

Finally, here is a brief explanation as to why to increase the team back to 7:
- More diversity, better spread of members represented.
- Shared responsibility, more mod cover and more time during the day when at least two mods will be logged on.
- It's a good opportunity to train new mods together
- synergism of ideas and new directions for PnQ.

Welcome to our dungeon Meena, MaryAnne and of course welcome back Britt.

30 something hours of mod chit chat and this thread is finally up. Perhaps tomorrow morning I can wake up AFTER 6am with limited buzzing of my phone from several excited mods.

Thank you Larry, Jane, Mel and the rest. I'm really looking forward to being a part of this and for the overall future of PnQ, it's exciting :) Huge congrats to Meena and Britt... can't wait to work with you both!

I thought the secret surprise was that all the mods would simultaneously demote themselves in a cultish online mass suicide, and let the site run wild and experiment with how we self-govern and whether Janis cares at all.

But we have many more mods, not none. Yaay. Welcome, ladies. I see Larry has vetoed all the male applications, due to hair envy no doubt.

Fair warning, any assignment Hellon gives you may have you wound up in a North Korean POW camp hanging by your thumbs

Well.....you're kinda old Britt...in mod years I mean so...I was hoping one of the newbies would be game....looks like Abby's thought of them putting poles up the other mods bums is just a dream :)

Narph....they have happy hour from 5-8...I think the bar staff are Irish but no one puts them right lol!!!

Ahh, the best bartender I ever encountered was Irish. Count me in.
