Hello, everyone! Quick prompt: what do dreams mean to you? Do you believe that they are simply random firings of neurons? Or do you believe they reflect your subconscious or your most guarded feelings? If you could be in total control of what you could dream about each night, what would you choose and why? Or would you choose to not dream at all?

Feel free to post poems/prose here! Whatever comes to mind.

    I love this!!!!

    Poem:

    Flawlessly floating
    my fingers caressing
    clouds.

    Whales flying
    beside me,

    stars whispering
    good night.

    The sun smiling,
    a warm heart gracing
    my time.

    But then you appear
    out of the void,

    so I run, swim, hide.

    But you always keep
    appearing, from every
    corner of my life.

    for years,
    i was a dream
    something so intangible becoming tangible
right in front of their eyes

    a miracle

    but even then,
i continued being a living dream

    whoever dreams with me
    never awakens

but it’s a matter of time
    until their eyes
    open

    and i
    will continued being a dream

    perhaps

    forgotten

    perhaps

    everlasting

    remember how at nights

    when nightmares came uninvited,

how i would pretend my mind

    was a television?

and with every blink i gave

a new dream popped onto my mind?

    remember how happy i was?

well, if I had the chance to do this again,

    i would not blink

i would let the nightmares streamed

    like a horror movie

like IT, or Friday The Thirteen

    i would just watch it

    while pretending to eat popcorn

    i would savor the moment

even if it meant shaking with fear

even if i were to awaken

    soaked in sweat

    i would not blink

    i would watch the nightmare

    because after all

    it is like a guest

    and any guest is welcome

    in my home

To dream is to wake up
And to wake up is to dream

In dream we wake up to other realms
    When we wake up
we are aboard in the dream of
    this verry realm.

These are all amazing! I loved reading them. Here's my addition!

In our garden, you'd plant your dreams,
the ones you could never have before.
The kale and cabbage, radishes and beets,
the zinnias and marigolds and daylilies
    would brighten at your touch.

You are the first person I see when I wake,
and the last before the moon settles.
I tell you everything I remember,
and am never greeted with a shrug.
You listen intently to the nightmares,
even if I can't recall the details,
you take the unease from my soul
and bury it with your light.

We till the soil and breathe every
    emotion into it; somehow,
    there is always a blossom,
despite what haunts me at night,
the things I did, and didn't, do.

We watch our life grow together,
    uninterrupted by the threat of
    potential chaos - how cathartic
to have every part of me recognized,
    no matter the tangled roots.

    You run yet you
    cant feel your body,
    your heart pounding
    in your palm and with
    the other hand you try
    respirate yourself.
    The adrenaline creeping
    through your veins, while
    in your mind you keep
    begging yourself to wake up.

    Where are you going, and
    what are you running away
    from this time?

    ...and whenever I dream,
    I swallow cities whole and
paint the skies with my brightest green.
    You say I dream weird
    but through these dreams
I see the world and live
    the life I cannot have.

This song is the ultimate dream::

    You are
    everything
    and everything
    is you.

in my sleep I stop breathing
    and when I do
i wake up but i sleep again
    just to awake sleepy

so in my sleep when i stop breathing
    i dream i breath a dream
    where breathing is so simple
    where breathing doesn’t stop
    where breathing is the dream,
    a dream come true

    DREAMSCAPE

A dream to me is reflection
of all things my mind taketh in
Twisted and turned on a sunbeam
    spun into a spiralling spin

    Clarity ebbs and flows deeper
like the tide it's rarely the same
    Mystery dances with sunlight
    whilst sugar coating the blame

    Wishes dive deep into memories
hopes fly high over storm clouds
Visions float on the backs of eagles
and wisdom is naught but a shroud
