okay so what is the new age version of a vampire...like no blood sucking and all that i know but what are they??

just was talkin 2 somebody about some stuff and they mentioned vampires like real ones now and i was just curious

okay that sounds like the mythical vampire type thing...i know there are real vampires today...but i dont know what they are...

all they do is suck blood and cut..

"Real" vampires? I think the closest thing you really can get is a cannibal.

Seriously, what characteristics would a "real" vampire have compared and contrasted to a mythological one?

*Suck blood from humans? Probably not.
*Sleep in a coffin during the day? Probably not.
*White face, black hair, scary eyebrows, creepy voice, and named Dracula? Michael Jackson’s parents didn’t name him Dracula.
*From Transylvania? Maybe.

Needless to say, I don’t believe I've ever met one. In metaphysics there is something that is referred to as a vampire entity or a vampire energy/ archetype, but it's not a physical embodiment (unless you are referring to very rare cases of possession).

Kayleigh...you said you know people okay if they don't go around killing people and sucking blood which i know they don't what do they do...i mean okay some people say they are witches but they don't go mixing body parts in big cauldrons and flying on broomsticks...that's the mythical version...so what do today's real vampires do...like what makes them vampires???

I'm a practicing witch and he won't call himself that but he is...and he said he knew some vampires and i have no clue what he meant by that...

well, i dont know much about it, but once i saw a csi show (dunno if this happens in real life) but there was a case of a teenage girl being murdered, and they investigated and found she was a vampire. the vampires they were talking about apparenlty were people who went to vampire night clubs and would suck each others blood, not enough to make them die or anything, but just for pleasure i guess. well in the end it turned out someone had sucked too much of her blood and the guy who did this claimed he was a real vampire and not one of the imitations like most of them including the girls friends. im not sure if this happens in real life, but it seems the most plausible. i have to say though, that was the coolest episode of csi ever.

There is a vampire sub culture here in Edinburgh, not a very large one but it's there.

Generally, it's just people who are attracted to the mythos of the vampire, the sexuality, the youth and passion...and maybe the opportunity to dress up.

Very few actually drink blood, and when they do, it's using a razor blade, and from people they know and trust, it's all very safe and sterile...just a grown up version of lets pretend...usually harmless.

I know people who think they are Psi Vamps, that is, people who have a special ability to feed of other peoples energy, or Aura's...but generally, they are so boring, that you get really tired around them and they think they are stealing your energy when In actual fact you are bored....they are even more harmless then other pretend vampires...the most they will do is stare hard at you. Smiling at them helps..kinda like sunlight.

It's all pretend though, all of it...no such thing as a real vampire.

wwhy so interseted in vampires?

Vampires are cool, an escape and fantasy which grows more and more seductive the more unsatisfactory life becomes.

Anemic people were considered vampires during the witch trials. A lot of them were nailed to coffins and buried alive. I did a report on it. They are people who get the blood cells they don't have by drinking blood. Vampirism is also a religion. Just google it.

Heh, that's ironic^ I was really weak and pale for a few weeks, so my mom thought I might be anemic. I told her that, no, I was just a vampire and hadn't gotten to feed in a while. Hee hee.

I saw that special on the history channel too. There was this one guy who was made famous for it..but I don't remember his name...he was into Vampirism and looked the part. Long black hair, manson contacts, lipstick...I wish I could remember who he is..
