I don't hate ipods. But I think that it's stupid how some people show off with them. I just got one, and I like it becuase now I actually have a way to listen to music when I'm not at home.

I think they are great! I LOVE music and it's great to be able to listen to it all the time... And who cares if everyone has got one?

I had this great dream last night, I drempt that someone had given me an iPod for free, it was the normal sized 40GB iPod, now if only they had given me a tablet PC too and it had been real.

I dont hate them.I have one but I don't flash it around. Partly because im not a stuck up poser, secondly because I'd rathernot have it stolen!

Au contraire. iPods are great. I love my iPod. But flash it around? Well what would the point in that? I don't need to show of expensive gear to prove I'm 'cool'.

I agree with Kara. I love my ipod, and I don`t really flash it around. If everyone`s got one, what`s the point of showing yours off? They`re becoming more and more common in society, so really there`s no need to flash it around. But I do in fact love my ipod, I`m a music fanatic and would probably not be the same without it.

I pods are a waste of money when you can get a less crapy system for less.

My Motorola mp3 player kicks ass sound wise (though I bought decent ear buds which are, unfortunately white), is lighter, uses less battery for run time, holds just as much music and looks better.

But then it's not about product it's use versus the cool factor. If you actually use your music player be it an I-Pod, mp3 player, Cd player or and old tape deck then it's all good.

On the other hand if you have an I-Pod just because everyone else has one and you feel you need it then you're nowt but a little lamb.

Yeah, I don't understand the advantage. But the camera/phone/mp3 player combination sounds cool. and it costs the same.

If you love music enough and don't wanna buy an mp3 player then they aren't really, if you think about it.

I have an IPod...when they first came out, they were a big fashion hit, but now it's just a normal view. I agree on hating when people show off with them, but I guess that is just common human nature. IPods are really convenient! :)

I love my ipod nano. I am thinking about gettnig a big one. I mean my mom was tired of me always taking AA batteries for my CD player. So in the long run it pays off. So It's isn't a waste of hard earned money. And I love music. I take mine everywhere

i WISH i had an ipod... i only have a celfone.. motorola L7... and it only holds 1GB of music... damn.. lol i REALLY want more than that... haha. but it's still cool cuz the music's all that matters. WOOHOO MUSIC!

I had a tape player, then a cd player, and now I have an IPod. When it comes to the current state of MP3 players, there aren't any others on the market that can compare to the video iPods in price at a comparable size or user interface. That isn't really a big point though, I think mp3 players in general aren't any more a waste of money than any music players, which is to say that if you want a portable music player, then they can't be a 'waste' of money... that's just a stupid statement.

eck, ipods need to die. it's like most everyone who owns an ipod turns it into either some kind of fashion statement or a contest. will someone please tell me the point of ipods? i have a very cheap mp3, but i hardly ever use it anymore, only for the stuff that i dont have on cd. personally, my cd player sounds better than anything else ive listened to, except for my stereo. i dont care about winning any kind of a contest or using an electronic device as a fashion statement (i hate those preps who come up with the "if u dont wear blue nikes with orange laces today your a loser and we will, like, kill you" kind of rules...DOWN WITH PREPS!!!! {insert evil laugh here} ) and i can survive with out one...ipods are so unnecessary...pointless...what is the big deal with ipods? i just want someone to give me a halfway decent answer aside from the fact that they are cool, are portable. or they hold music...because i know a lot of things that are cool, portable and hold music.

My iPod has a pink cover. I don't think I own the world and it is not stolen. Do you not think it may be jealousy that you don't have one that you are judging people in this way?
I think they're great. They hold enough music and allow me to put my videosand pictures on it :]

Okay ash well I have a reason. Yes they hold music, and they are small. I have an ipod becuase it was the cheapest thing besides a cd player I could find. And I've gotten my money back out of its use. All the mp3 players I saw were too expensive for me to get compared to the ipod I did buy.

I don't turn my ipod into a "fashion statement", and a lot of the people I know don't do that either. They use them to listen to music... their purpose. People you know or see may do that but the majority of the people I know don't. Just thought I'd point that out.

I seriously dislike you for that comment. I have a pink iPod mini. I most certainly don't walk around like I own the world. How shallow and judgemental of you.

Anyway, I wanted to also add, that I live in a poor area, and many people I know have iPods. Doesn't make any of us rich, so we certainly aren't getting them to show off, or 'flash our cash' around. In this area, it shows we've saved for what we really want!
