Why do people make fun of emotional people?

I just don't get why, were still people too. Were not that different from anyone else. My friends make fun of my friend that hes emo but as usual he just denies it but I know he probably is. If I told him that I am also emo then he will probably rad on me and everyone will also make fun of me :( Its not like my self esteem is low enough, I don't need for people to make fun of me.

Yeah, I completely understand... it's a superiority thing I think, if they make fun of other's that get that bigger man feeling. It's cruel and unjust!
PS Emo is just another prejudice label, you know your friend and you care for them, that's what matter's most. And your other friends need to learn some tact, and responsibilty... karma will get them in the end, or god! :) I appreciate you for being a human who cares!

I just have a problem with their attitude and outlook on life. I don't have anything against the person who is emo, but i don't think it's right that most of them act the way they do. Everyone has issues in life, but you don't see them making them depressed a lot.

Emo kids are great but, retarded. they're funny but have really bad taste in music other than that i make fun of emos as a joke.

Yeah I completely agree with Kim. I don't care how a person dresses, but I do care about people who label themselves. I think its really quite sad.

for one emo is a label so don't really think of it that way your only emo if you make yourself that way but expressing your feelings or being emotional there is nothing wrong with that in my book but if your complaining about being made fun of because of it don't call yourself "emo" thats why they do it

I have a friend who has a perfectly normal life but is somewhat...as she says...bipolar. She gets very emotional on some days and goes into "phases" in which she'll yell without noticing that everyone is staring at her.

I've been through so many labels, it just doesn't matter anymore. Nerd, Geek, Goth, Druggie, Loser, Prep, Punk. You name it, I've been it. *shrug* I don't care about people when it comes to their cruelty. Like I said, just get over it. There are other things in this world that deserve more concern than school/teenager dilemma. We couldn't live without labels. Just worry about the starving kids in third-world countries, not your petty little issues.

I think they're sort of gothic, meaning that they wear dark clothes and smudged eyeliner, but without the elegance of gothic. They don't wash much, and get this "life sucks" sort of air about them, where they can't even bother to get up and shower, comb their hair, etc.
But the definition is pretty loose. Just pretend the water bill wasn't paid, sit around without changing clothes, let your hair get greasy, don't talk much, write about suicide... voila.. emo.

Everyone deals with them, I get labelled as emo all the time. And for the definition of emo that most believe; it is people who give up on life. They slit their wrists. Listen to depressing music and complain about how bad their lives are. Most are bisexual. They do shower, by the way, the greasy effect is from the amount of hair products that they use. It is a huge fad right now, and it will die out eventually. Emos actually aren't all that bad if you give them a chance.

some people just don't take emotional people seriously and when that happens depression occurs... I say its the people who judge emo's are extremly unkind and inhuman... you people forget that emo's are real human's too, and its the people who judge create... get your mind around that people....
