Significant Reality

by Larry Chamberlin   Dec 19, 2015

So it comes to this:
do we each truly have an immortal soul
or, are we super-complex biochemicals,
transient smoke, of fire bestowed.

Temporary form and grace,
or permanent existence stockpiled
from some reservoir, extra-material,
which needn't by Newton be reconciled.

Because the problem is the conflict
'tween this fear of nihilism's truth
and the equal disbelief that anything
can go on originally without any proof.

God knows I haven't the foggiest.
