Social Media's such a Bore [Quatern]

by Saerelune   Jan 29, 2016

Social media's such a bore:
we click and flick, dismiss fat chicks;
scroll through pictures, perfect fixtures
of what might be, filled with envy.

At night we sow with saintly glow:
"social media's such a bore".
Dislike which we like, eye the prize,
to raid our foe, rule this freakshow.

At dawn we wake with coffee craze,
mags wide open: picture's omen.
Social media's such a bore:
all we see, are copied routines.

So here's to selfies, make-up, tea.
Follow the vain, pee on parades.
We all know we like to like ho es.
... social media? Such a bore.

"A Quatern is a sixteen line French form composed of four quatrains. It is similar to the Kyrielle and the Retourne. It has a refrain that is in a different place in each quatrain. The first line of stanza one is the second line of stanza two, third line of stanza three, and fourth line of stanza four. A quatern has eight syllables per line. It does not have to be iambic or follow a set rhyme scheme."
