Depravity of man

by Lemon Squeezy   Mar 4, 2008

So depraved and lost in sin,
Never knowing how to win,
Struggling hard so deep within,
Always yearning to give in.

So confused and lost in wonder,
In this world the curse we're under,
Hoping not to make a blunder,
Sin doth toss our hearts asunder.

We all hope to alleviate,
One another's destined fate;
Yet Satan holds us o'er his gate,
Now we know that it's too late.

Sin's a nature we can't beat,
A mighty challenge we can't meet,
It binds us daily hands and feet,
And triumphs o'er us in defeat.

But there's a man who overcame,
Lived so perfect, but took the blame,
For all our sins he wore the shame,
Jesus Christ was that man's name.

Jesus took for us the pain,
He lost his life so we could gain,
A chance to one day with him reign,
Though many men thought him insane.

Twas for those very men he gave,
His precious life that it might save,
Their souls from Hell, and from the grave,
That sin they might no longer crave.

He beat the grave, He conquered sin,
He did this deed so we could win,
Against the struggles, deep within,
He died for Depravity of men.
