All That Passes Is Time

by Mezmeryz   Mar 6, 2008

Rhymes in my head;
No words on the page,
Just a spot of ink,
At beginners stage.

Visions and pictorial memoirs,
Flashbacks or imagination?
Shall I scribble it on;
Or confer through deliberation?

Write like a story,
It doesn't need to rhyme,
No need to hurry,
All that passes is time.

Shall I paint a picture?
The fairytale hue?
Should it be nature this time?
Think I'll try something new.

Write a poem they say,
It couldn't be that tough;
Flick your pen, spill a thought,
You'll be surprised by the stuff.

The word is a knife,
And the paper is my heart;
I'll bleed to death,
But you can never pull us apart.

*please rate or comment on the poem, it will be greatly appreciated and I will comment and rate back all round. Thank you.

    This is a wonderful poem, I read it like 4 times and each time I liked it more and more. You are very talented and I like your style.... remind me of how i write poems.

    Write like a story?
    Because it doesn't need to rhyme,
    No need to hurry,
    Because all that passes is time.

    *Perhaps take out both of the "because's"
    *in the above stanza, you may like it more.

    I bet lots of people actually have been in this postion before, not knowing what to write. Every poet goes through this.. So I think your speaking on behalf of everyone. :)

    Oh and something i spotted in the 10th line:

    'Because it don't need to rhyme'

    "Don't" sounds better as "doesn't" here.

    But apart from that.. Excellent! 5/5
