The Night Sky~Haiku

by Poet on the Piano   Mar 15, 2008

The twinkling stars,
Look so close but are so far,
Oh, what true beauty.

The moon in the sky,
Never hopes to say goodbye,
I wish it was mine!

Oh I love the corrections you made .. see I knew you could do better! I wish I could vote again and give you a five but you could only vote once. You are truly talented hon dont even let anyone tell you otherwise.

I didn't like how you used wish twice in thie poem because I feel it threw the flow of the poem off for me. I could image everything you described clearly because I always sit in my balcony looking at the sparkling stars in the beautiful night sky. I feel this poem could be a little stronger because I know from your talent that you could do better but it was short sweet and to the point which is why I give it a *5/5* Well done.

The last line screamed Jane Austen at me. I don't know why, since I've only read 40 pages of Pride and Prejudice before giving up on it. I think it's because it sounds so innocent, dreamy and somehow, tragically sad.
