Death note, note of death
Heartbeat and dragon's breath
Write a sentence just to try
A way, a word, a person to die.

Now, let's just see if this works
This hex, this jinx, this so cold curse
Scribble your name, remember their lies
Oh, shock, guess what, tonight someone dies.

Death note, note of death
Think of pain less and less
The death will come, painless and swift
And towards the dark skies your soul shall lift.

And in the morn they shall all cry
There will be horror that you have died
No one expected this at all
It was as if they thought you'd never fall,,

Amongst the pain, amongst the lies
Amongst the darkness of the skies
Amongst the broken love and the hurt
Amongst the tears and the words.

That's it, just write down that name
There's no longer a need to bow your head in shame
Tonight is your night, tonight you'll die
They thought you wouldn't but you are a surprise.

So dry your eyes and lift your head
Don't worry, dear, you'll soon be dead
And tonight there will be no witness to watch you fall,
To watch you try, to watch you crawl,
You once were happy, once stood tall,
But that doesn't matter anymore.

Love hurts so much that you'd dare to use death note
And in the morning they will see exactly what you wrote
With all your bones completely crushed, your blood on the wall
I never thought that I'd really be the very first to fall.

    Great poem! you described love's pains nicely as being written in a deathnote (know the series tottally adicted)... sad thing he kills the one who loves him.

    I love Death Note!!! ^.^ *is an anime freak* I've only gotten to the part right after L dies though. It was so sad. T.T

    Anyways, this was a good poem, so dark and creepy just like the show. I think you captured the hurt and despair perfectly, and maybe just a little regret? You kept me very interested the whole time and never once did I lose interest.

    `` This stanza was an amazing opening, especially the line about the dragon's breath. It sent chills down my spine.

    I never thought that I'd really be the very first to fall.
    `` This ending was a little shocking, I think. The owner of the death note, the first one to fall? At least I think that's what you were saying.

    This poem is so powerful and very dark.. it talks about anguish that can't be cure, and the only way to resolved it to surrender your life.. i know most of us wanted to give up that easily butthat is not the solution.
