Lose Control

by AGirlWorthFightingFor   May 16, 2008

Air tightens around my
wall-eyed vision
Losing focus of distinctive objects
Blurred together into one
monochromatic mass of ash and indecision
Strangling the passages
to my lungs
Reaching out to embrace
resistance, the primitive command
I hold over your gaze
and self-inflicted pride
Pushed aside into the backlight
Passing notes and stealing glances,
the lens captures
furtive stares and cool romances
flitting past my receptive eyes
stealing my attention
Taking back control
of creative license
Foul tempers, stubborn actors
Mimic unrequited tensions
behind the camera
